Mezcal Tasting
Originally made by indigenous people in what is now the state of Oaxaca, using traditional methods passed down from generation to generation.
Mezcal is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from the agave plant, native to Mexico. The word mezcal comes from the Nahuatl word mexcalli [meʃˈkalːi], which means "oven-cooked agave".
Mezcal was first introduced to the Spanish colonists in the early 1600s, who then began producing their own version of the drink. Today, mezcal is made all over Mexico, with each region producing its own unique variety.
