Only 90 miles from Puerto Vallarta over the Sierra Madre Mountains lies the birth-place of Tequila
Tequila, one of Mexico's official Pueblos Mágicos (magical towns), is located about 90 miles east from Puerto Vallarta. The red volcanic soil in the region is particularly well suited to the growing of the blue agave, and more than 300 million of the plants are harvested there each year. This blue agave grows differently depending on the region and the region affects the aroma and taste.
Can you tell the difference? Do you know the categories that bottled blue agave tequilas generally fall under? Come learn with us!
Our agave expert, Luis, will walk you through small-batch, artisanal tequilas as we explore the distinct differences between each category. We will discuss how to distinguish between blanco, reposado and anejo tequilas. You'll leave the tasting knowing what to order in the future and be able to expertly tell the difference in taste and aroma.
Come for a tequila tasting, stay for the atmosphere and leave knowing you've had an authentic experience. We're local people helping you find the best local, mexican spirits and welcoming you to do the same.
